Château Fonréaud, with its legendary name and location on the roof of the Médoc, is a unique site!
Château Lestage, also owned by the Chanfreau family for 50 years. At the heart of the vineyard stands the Château, a magnificent Napoleon III building constructed in 1870.
Two superb 19th-century Châteaux and a location on the highest point of the Médoc make the Chanfreau vineyards an exceptional place!
The amphitheatrically arranged vines occupy the gravel, clay and limestone slopes of the Puy de Menjon.
Only the creation of the Appellations d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) separated this vineyard into two Appellations: Listrac-Médoc and Moulis en Médoc.
Now run by the fourth generation, Guillaume and Loïc Chanfreau and their teams put their hearts into producing sincere, generous wines:
AOC Listrac: Château Fonréaud and Château Lestage
AOC Moulis: Château Chemin Royal and Château Caroline
AOC Bordeaux white: Le Cygne de Fonréaud and La Mouette de Lestage
The vines are cultivated in a sustainable, integrated manner, with High Environmental Value and Terra Vitis certification.
